My brother is leaving... ack!

Daniel is heading out to his own apartment on Monday - yikes! It's an exciting time for the whole family, as he has been blessed with a job and opportunity to be independant. No one has ever been away from home for such a long period of time. What a blessing that Daniel did his college degree online so we could have him home for those years.

Me is going to miss him (yes I know that's bad grammar) :( He is my best friend. No I don't always admit it when he's right and I'm wrong, but what a great older brother he has been. As a computer wizard, he has his hands full with a tech-illiterate sister. As a photographer, we have had fun learning how to capture moments in our family and nature. As an entrepreneur, he used his pressure-washing business to help clean the cow parlor a number of times. As a partner in crime, we have a gazillion memories of escapades (guess who got in trouble most of the time, though ;) ). We went on a missions trip together, bought a car together, went to ECD together...

Why does life have to change to the point of no return? I feel like I'm at the edge of a cliff, and as soon as that next step is taken, there will be no returning.

You know the worst part about it? I'm sitting here, wondering what on earth I'll do if I have a computer question... (almost totally just kidding) ;)

I SO know what you're talking about! It's called growing up and leaving childhood behind, and while it's hard sometimes, almost always you're trading something better, but different, for what you used to have. I've felt like that a LOT in the last year!

Yes, those types of changes inevitably come, and though they are hard, it is also exciting to go to the next stage of life.

You could always get a gmail account, and do video chat with your brother for technical support. ;)

Karen, I'm glad to hear that from you. It is encouraging to know better times are ahead.

Thanks Brian, I've got chat, but didn't know about the video chat. I'll have to ask him how to set it up... lol I'm hopeless!

Aww, Emily I feel your sadness. I have three brothers and a sister that have all moved from home and now that I'm no longer living at home either I'm on the other side of it. It can get lonely living on ones own(although I am not alone, it is still lonesome occasionally). I'm sure you will see him from time to time and Yes, things will change, but it is a good change. Growing up is hard to do!
